PVG handled 22,275 departing flights in July 2025, a 2.38% increase year over year. The airport continues to be one of China’s largest and busiest international hubs.

On‑Time Performance and Cancellations

On‑time performance rose significantly to 72.89%, improving by 16.5 points compared to last year. However, cancelled flights reached 2,196, up 35.98% year over year, showing pressure on operations.

Airlines at PVG

China Eastern Airlines (MU) has its headquarters and largest hub at PVG. Shanghai Airlines and Spring Airlines are also based here, with Air China and many international carriers operating extensively.

Outlook

While punctuality improved strongly, the rise in cancellations remains a challenge. Operational optimization will be critical going forward.
